Perseverance and sticking with whatever is in your path, whether it is running for president, parenting, a work project, painting your house, finishing your thesis, meditating daily, or kicking up into handstand, is the key to transformation. When the trials set in and the brick walls appear, it can be alluring to give up and convince yourself you don’t have what it takes to overcome it. Yet the trials and brick walls are part of the path.
The Yoga Sutras very simply state that what is required of us on the path of yoga (and life) is regular practice over a long period of time…this is what will transform us. This means even five minutes a day can change us, if we preserve and commit to doing it for an extended period. Whatever you are facing, hang in there….as the Dalai Lama says, “Never give up, no matter what is going on around you, never give up”.
